About Alasca

“Brilliant!”
Bob Harris (BBC Radio 2)

“AlascA for me is one of those bands that makes an album to remember forever.”
Grammy-Award Winner Alan Branch

“Occasionally a band will turn up, seemingly out of nowhere, with a sound that is at once naggingly familiar yet wholly original"
Steve Bennett, Acoustic Magazine

AlascA will play its eleven tales and linger on till spring. Where did one ever find such silence and where did one ever encounter such violent storms…? AlascA’s music has that ever-whirling quality of novels and poems: it will leave lasting impressions that change upon new encounters. Not only do their songs grow on you as its tales adore and revile truth, the melodies that guide the lyrics to their end have a place in the past, the present and the future. Their lingering melodies will appeal to the listeners of current indie-folk, but will likewise inspire those who loved the folk sounds, close harmonies and lyrical subtleties of the ‘60’s and the ‘70’s. AlascA is one of those bands whose music will transcend its time; on album and on stage.

The band's debut album ‘Actors & Liars’ was produced by Grammy-award winning producer Alan Branch, known for his work with among others U2, Jeff Beck, Yusuf Islam, Blur, Nine Inch Nails. It was released in the Netherlands on 17 February 2012 and received much critical acclaim in the Netherlands and Belgium. The album peaked #9 in the Dutch charts in the week after its release (and remained in the top 50 the subsequent 6 weeks). The band toured extensively through the Netherlands, Italy and Germany to support the album.

On 8 January 2013 AlascA signed with Independent Records Limited (IRL).
‘Actors & Liars’ was released in the UK on 25 March 2013.
